Lokata

Lokata is a location-based online service that provides consumers with information on local shopping. Users can view brochures, prices and information from a range of different retailers and find the nearest locations for the best deals.

Lokata is the first Russian-language Internet service designed to use geolocation to locate and promote goods and services. Users can access the online engine on web browsers or on apps for all mobile platforms and use it to compare nearby shopping facilities based on price, proximity, opening hours and selection of goods.

The site also provides local search tools with advanced filters that help users search goods by category, get information on retail locations, browse catalogues of selected stores and subscribe to special offers.

Lokata was launched in April 2012 and is based on the model of kaufDA, Germany’s market leader in online promotion of goods and services. KaufDA has more than 32 million unique visitors per month and covers 200,000 retail locations in 12,000 cities across Germany.

Zhanna Shalimova, CEO of Lokata, has more than 15 years of experience in Management, Marketing and Start-Up Management. She worked as a Regional Sales Director for the Russian Branch of MALEV Hungarian Airlines and as Deputy Director of Sales at AlfaStrakhovanie-Life LLC. She also participated in the start-up project of Avianova Airlines, managing the commercial block, sales, marketing, e-commerce departments, PR service and department for product and additional revenue management. According to Shalimova, Lokata’s business development plans are not limited to cities with a population of over one million: “Lokata was always intended as a nationwide service to cover the whole country!”
